Hesther Selbeck regularly provides training for professionals and interested parties who want to learn more about using horses in the field of (Youth) Mental Health Care or are curious about what horses can mean for their personal and spiritual development.

Using horses during Systemic Therapy is extremely suitable for changing patterns and discovering new ways of communication. Clients gain different insights than in verbal therapy and can take control of their lives through the tools they learn. Especially if they get stuck in their development, the goal is to obtain solutions and perspective.

The 3-day CHT training covers therapeutic elements from the Contextual Horse Therapy (CHT) methodology: about how horses are used in this process to initiate reflection and emotion regulation in individual clients or in a group: such as a family, team or in group therapy.
As a trainee, you will receive background information on the CHT. Practical experiences are discussed and we go deeper into what makes the CHT different from other interventions.
In the practical training with the horses, you work on your own themes or topics for the growth of your inner leadership, personal and spiritual development. You are asked to prepare a case or problem. This can also be from a work setting other than social work or business. You will use this to work with the horses and trainers. The components are alternated with horse riding in the picadeiro. During the training you will therefore be inspired in therapeutic work with horses, mainly by experiencing it yourself.

-You have concrete ideas about in-depth interventions with horses and how these can be implemented in your work setting.

Elements of the CHT methodology can be applied afterwards within your current work field.

This training can be followed individual or in groups.
